EQUAL PAY

[Sponsors] Representatives Golden, Murphy and Nangle of Lowell moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

"SECTION.   The Human Resources Division shall conduct a study of state agency personnel and job classifications to determine whether compensation and benefits for employees of the same or similar classification are comparable based on gender.  In conducting the study, the Division shall prepare and submit an annual Fair and Equal Pay Report including pay information for every state agency.  Such reports shall identify any pay gaps that exist at the individual agency level and shall include, but not be limited to, identifying the employee demographics associated with such pay gaps. The Division shall develop templates for agencies to use in addressing and eliminating non job-pay gaps in the state classification system.  The Division shall report the findings of the initial study to the House Committee on Ways and Means, the Joint Committee on State Administration and the respective House Clerks no later than June 30, 2012.  Thereafter, annual reports shall be submitted no later than June 30th of each year to the same committees.
