Easing Municipal Health Bidding Process

[Sponsors] Representative Demetrius J. Atsalis of West Hyannisport moves that the bill be amended by adding at the end thereof the following sections:

SECTION X. Chapter 32B of the General Laws is hereby amended in section 19 by striking the fifth sentence of the second paragraph of subsection (e) in its entirety, and replacing it with the following:-

In the event that a political subdivision transfers subscribers to the commission under this section, subscribers may be withdrawn from commission coverage annually upon notice to the commission.

Chapter 32B of the General Laws is hereby amended in section 19 by striking the first sentence of the third paragraph of subsection (e) in its entirety, and replacing it with the following:-

The decision and notice to withdraw shall be made by May 1 each year.

SECTION X. Chapter 32B of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting the following section:-

An insurance carrier, third party administrator, or, in the case of a governmental unit that has undertaken to provide health insurance coverage to its subscribers by acceptance of section 19 of this chapter, the commission, shall, upon written request, provide the governmental unit with its historical claims data within 45 days of such request.
