Amendment #454 to H3400

Advanced Placement -  Teacher Content Training

[Sponsors] Mr. Keenan of Salem, Mr. McMurtry of Dedham, Mr. Smola of Palmer, Mr. Scibak of South Hadley, and Ms. Gobi of Spencer move that the bill be amended in line item 7061-9804 by striking the number “$353,227” and replacing it with the number “$1,353,227” and by adding the following after the words “educator licensure preparation;” :

provided further, that not less than $1 million shall be expended on a program which shall provide advanced placement math, science and English teacher training in at least 40 school districts, provided that such program shall provide a matching amount of at least $1 million in private funding; and provided further, that the department shall deliver to the legislature an independent evaluation of the program and its impact on student achievement, particularly as relates to closing achievement gaps;
