Amendment #590 to H3400
Determining Need for Durable Medical Technology
[Sponsors] Mr. O’Day of West Boylston moves to amend the bill by adding at the end thereof the following section:
“Section XXX: The Health Care Quality and Cost Council administered by EOHHS must appoint a subcommittee including representatives of disability communities to develop an actuarial assessment to be used in determining a risk-adjustment schedule for including Durable Medical Technology in the global payment and bundled recommendations. The said subcommittee shall report its findings to EOHHS by June 30, 2012. The term “durable medical technology” should be taken to mean the fusion of durable medical equipment and assistive technology into a list of common equipment necessary for the health, well-being, and productivity of citizens with permanent or temporary disabling conditions”.
