[Sponsors] Representative Khan of Newton, O'Connell of Taunton, Demers of Woburn, and Fox of Boston move that the bill be amended in Section 2, by inserting after 0330-0300 a new line item

0330-0441  For the Permanency Mediation Program in the Trial Court        $540,000

This item will fund the cost-effective statewide Permanency Mediation Program of the Juvenile Court. The goal is to quickly work for a permanent home for the 60% of children who have a goal of adoption, are in foster care, but are not free for adoption. This avoids a trial, saves judicial and foster care costs, and achieves a safe and stable home for traumatized children in a timely manner.
