Amendment for ESOL classes and citizenship preparation

Representatives Cabral of New Bedford, Durant of Spencer, Provost of Somerville, Koczera of New Bedford, Fox of Boston, Farley-Bouvier of Pittsfield, Sánchez of Boston, Khan of Newton, Smith of Everett, Balser of Newton and Conroy of Wayland moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 0411-1000, in line 8, by inserting after “coordinating council;” the following:

“provided that funds be expended to leverage federal resources from the AmericCorps New Americans Immigrant Integration Program for English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes and citizenship preparation.”
