Amendment #453 to H4100

Species Count Analyses to Benefit Fishermen of the Commonwealth

Representatives Cabral of New Bedford, Schmid of Westport, Koczera of New Bedford and Markey of Dartmouth moves to amend the bill, in section 2, in item 7100-0200, in line 8, by inserting after “management and maintenance;” the following:

“and provided further, that not less than $200,000 shall by expended by the School for Marine and Science Technology at UMASS Dartmouth to conduct research and species count analyses on groundfish and scallops in the region managed by the New England Fishery Management Council, including $50,000 for research on Gulf of Maine Cod”;

and in said item by striking out the figure “417,982,753” and inserting in place thereof the figure “418,182,753.”
