Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Project

Representatives Balser of Newton, Khan of Newton, Sciortino of Medford, Sullivan of Fall River, Linsky of Natick, Malia of Boston, Kocot of Northampton, Scaccia of Boston, Lawn of Watertown, Wolf of Cambridge, Provost of Somerville, Sannicandro of Ashland, McMurtry of Dedham, Smola of Palmer, DiNatale of Fitchburg, Hecht of Watertown and Smizik of Brookline move to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting the following new line 5042-6000:

 

For the operation of a statewide program to provide mental health consultations by telephone, available for a minimum of 5 days a week, to pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners and youth serving primary care practices for persons under the age of 19 who exhibit a possible mental health or substance use disorder; provided, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the costs of this program may be assessed on surcharge payers under section 38 of chapter 118G of the General Laws and may be collected in a manner consistent with said chapter 118G...........$3,200,000
