School-to-Career Connecting Activities Dropout Recovery

Mr. Coppinger of Boston moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 7027-0019, in line 7, by inserting after "program” the following: “provided further, that this program may include the award of matching grants to workforce investment boards or other local public-private partnerships involving local community job commitments and work site learning opportunities for students”; and, in line 14, by inserting after "job' the following: "provided further, that up to 25% of the matching grants may be used to fund outreach and reengagement for students who have dropped out of school or are chronically truant”; and in said item by striking out the figures “$2,000,000” and inserting in place thereof the figures “$4,250,000”.
