Amendment #651 to H4100

Decommissioned tank to Johnny Ro Veterans Memorial Park in Leominster

Representatives Rosa of Leominster, DiNatale of Fitchburg, Ferguson of Holden and Ross of Attleboro moves to amend the bill in section 2 by inserting after item 1410-0630 the following item:

“1410-XXXX   For funding to transport a decommissioned tank, approved by the Department of Defense, from the North Carolina National Guard to the Johnny Ro Veterans Memorial Park in Leominster.  The planning and design of this park is now completed and the tank will sit on site as a reminder of Pfc. Jonathan Roberge’s occupation as a tanker in the Army.  The park will honor all veterans across the Commonwealth who have lost their lives fighting for our freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan.  The names and photos of these veterans will be displayed on a monument in the park.  This is a passive recreational park located on city-owned land acquired from the state as surplus property."
