DEEC - Early Education and Care incl. for Children of Teen Parents

Representatives Khan of Newton, Farley-Bouvier of Pittsfield, Wolf of Cambridge, Provost of Somerville, O'Day of West Boylston, Sannicandro of Ashland, Swan of Springfield, Henriquez of Boston, Lawn of Watertown, Smizik of Brookline, Coakley-Rivera of Springfield, Kane of Holyoke and Fox of Boston move to amend the bill in section 2, in item 3000-4050, in line 10, by striking out the following: “may provide early education and care benefits to parents who are under 18 years of age, who are currently enrolled in a job training program”, and inserting in place thereof the following: “shall provide early education and care benefits to parents who are under 18 years of age and are currently enrolled in a public school, an alternative education program, a general educational development testing program, or a vocational education program; provided further that child care placement will be as close to the teen parent’s school or program as possible.”; and, in said item by striking out the figures "125,459,740” and inserting in place thereof the figures "132,500,000".
