Pre K Massachusetts Quality Rating

Representatives Garlick of Needham, Sullivan of Fall River, Schmid of Westport and Farley-Bouvier of Pittsfield move to amend the bill in section 2, in item 3000-5075, by striking the words “have been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, National Association of Family Child Care or a Child Development Associate credential or higher;” and inserting the following text: “fall within the quality standards established by the Massachusetts Quality Rating and Improvement System;” and further moves to amend the bill by inserting after the words “enhance teacher and staff quality and compensation,” the following text: “enhance program quality through participation in the Massachusetts Quality Rating and Improvement System,”.
