Amendment #746 to H4100

To maintain continuity of work history during long-term unemployment

Mr. Winslow of Norfolk moves to amend the bill by adding at the end thereof the following section:-

 

“SECTION XX.  Notwithstanding any special or general law to the contrary, any person who has received unemployment insurance benefits for more than 180 days in any 365 day period shall be required to perform 8 hours weekly of public community service under the supervision the executive office of environmental affairs as a condition of receiving continued unemployment insurance benefits.  For purposes of administering this section, the secretary of the executive office of environmental affairs may enter into agreements with any other state or municipal agency for the deployment, management and supervision of such community service volunteers.”
