Amendment #767 to H4100

State Scholarship Amendment I & II

Representatives Markey of Dartmouth, Finn of West Springfield, Diehl of Whitman, Scibak of South Hadley and Lawn of Watertown move to amend the bill in item 7070-0065 in line 3, by striking out the following: “or independent”; and, in line 4, by striking out the following: “, or any other approved institution furnishing a program of higher education”; and inserting in line 4 after “nursing,” the following : “within Massachusetts or independent college, university or other approved institution furnishing a program of higher education within Massachusetts with an endowment of less than $1,000,000,000.00 as of December 31, 2011; and by striking “$86,507,756” and inserting “$79,276,756”; further amending the bill in item 7100-0200 in line 8, by inserting after “maintenance;” the following : “provided further, that no less than $7,231,000 be expended to provide financial assistance to Massachusetts students enrolled at the University of Massachusetts“; and by striking “$417,982,753” and inserting “$425,213,453”.
