Amendment #811 to H4100

hospital and community health center funding

Mr. Atsalis of Barnstable moves to amend House 4100, section 2, line item 4000-0700 by striking the following:

"Provided further, that $23,000,000 shall be expended from this item, or item 4000-0500, if necessary to achieve maximum federal financial participation, to enhance the ability of hospitals and community health centers to serve populations in need more efficiently and effectively"

and inserting in place thereof the following:

"Provided further, that $23,000,000 shall be expended from this item, or item 4000-0500, if necessary to achieve maximum federal financial participation, to enhance the ability of hospitals and community health centers and other proivders to serve populations in need more efficiently and effectively and provided further that of the $23,000,000 made available for this purpose, $14,000,000 shall be made available to so-called Group B hospitals as designated by the amended waiver in 2011 through the formula used to distribute those funds as allocated under the amended waiver; and $8,000,000 shall be made available to community health centers through a grant program to be developed by the League of Community Health Centers working with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services and provided further that $1,000,000 shall be made available to other providers that serve home based individuals in urban settings."
