Amendment #828, as changed to H4100

Technical Amendment

Mr. Dempsey of Haverhill Mr. Dempsey of Haverhill moves to further amend amendment 828 to H. 4100 by striking out the amendment in its entirety and inserting in place thereof the following amendment:-

 

Mr. Dempsey of Haverhill moves to amend the bill in section 2, in item 1599-0026, by striking the words “provided further, that the competitive grant program shall include only those local education authorities whose chapter 70 aid in fiscal year 2013, as a percentage of foundation budget, is less than that local education authorities’ target aid share for fiscal year 2013;” and inserting in place thereof the following words: “provided further, that no less than $200,000 be expended for the purpose of funding a 20% regional grant match for the Fire Chiefs Association of Plymouth County to develop and upgrade the emergency radio communications system in Plymouth County;” and in said item by striking out the figures “$5,750,000” inserted by amendment and inserting in place thereof the figures “$5,950,000”.

 

And further amend the bill in section 2, in item 2300-0100, by inserting after "budgetary costs" the following: "; provided, further, that no more than $10,000 shall be expended for costs incurred relating to the transfer of a parcel of land by the commonwealth in the town of Halifax to the town”; and in said item by striking out the figures "$645,902" and inserting in place thereof the figures "$655,902".

 

in section 2, in item 3000-7050 by inserting after the words “shall include, but not be limited to," the second time they appear, the following:- "the home-based, school readiness and family support program known as the parent-child home program,”, and further amend the item by striking out, after the words “funded through this item”, the following:- the home-based, school readiness and family support program known as the parent-child home program,”

 

And further amend the bill in section 2, in item 7000-9401, by inserting after the words “fiscal year 2012 distributions;” the following:-

 

provided further, that the board shall provide funds for the continued operation of a single regional library system to serve the different geographic regions of the commonwealth and requiring that physical locations be maintained in both eastern and western Massachusetts to serve the residents of those regions;

 

And further amend the bill in section 2, in item 7003-1206, by inserting after the word organization the following:- ; provided further, that no less than $100,000 shall be provided for financial support of the MA Latino Chamber of Commerce; and in the item by striking the figure “$1,525,000” and inserting in place thereof “$1,625,000”

 

And further amend the bill in section 2, in item 7061-0928, by striking out after the words “and provided further, that the” the words “department” and inserting in place thereof the words “department’s advisory committee”

 

And further amend the bill in section 2, in item 7061-0928, by striking out after the words “no later than” the words “January 4, 2013” and inserting in place thereof the words “December 31, 2013”

 

And further amend the bill, in section 81, by inserting, in line 1050, after the word “services” the following word:- personal

 

And further amend the bill, in section 90, by inserting, in line 1359, after the word “co-chairs;” the following words:- “the secretary of elder affairs, or a designee;” and by striking out, in line 1368, the words “and 4 members” and inserting in place thereof the following:- “the president of the Alzheimer’s Association, or a designee; and 3 members”

 

And further amend, in section 91, by inserting, in line 1392, after the word “contrary,” the following words:- in the case of community colleges,

 

And further amend the bill by inserting the following section:-

 

SECTION XX. Section 5K of chapter 59 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting, in line 5 and line 7,  after the phrase “age of 60” the following:- “and veterans, as defined in clause forty-third of section 7 of chapter 4,”

 

SECTION XX. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary the Department of Public Health is prohibited from raising licensing fees for food vending machines greater than 100% in a calendar year.

 

And further amend the Veterans’ Services and Soldiers’ Homes Consolidated amendment, in paragraph 13, by striking out the item “1410-0400” and inserting in place thereof “1410-0630”.
