Amendment #4 to H4196

To reduce power outages caused by falling branches

Mr. Winslow of Norfolk moves to amend the amendment inserting after section 1 the following section:-

“Section XX. Section 1J of said chapter 164, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “commonwealth.” the following text:-

No municipality shall be prohibited from requiring utility lines located within the publicly-owned right of way to be kept clear of trees and branches as a condition of the use of such public property by utility companies.”
