Employment and Training Pilot Project

Ms. Donoghue and Mr. Finegold moved that the proposed new text be amended in section 2, in item 7004-0108, by striking the figure, “$90,787,766” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- “$91,037,766”, and further by inserting after the words “and provided further, that any transfer of funds shall not leave this item with a projected deficiency” the following:- ; and provided further that $250,000 be expended to support a pilot initiative, that shall be administered through HomeBASE providers who also directly deliver critical supports including child care, transportation, and workforce development and who have leveraged additional resources and established internal linkages between homeless and workforce services, with the goal of strengthening integrated delivery, leveraging private resources, and increasing family self-sufficiency by providing access to short-term job readiness, training, and employment for families who are receiving time limited housing assistance.
