MSBA Project Priorities

Mr. Welch moved that the proposed new text be amended by adding after section ___, the following new sections:-

SECTION X. Section 8 of chapter 70B of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting in subsection (1), in line 7, after the word “exists;” the following text:- “further priority shall be given to school projects that will replace or renovate a school that was damaged as a result of a FEMA (federal emergency management agency) natural disaster ;”

SECTION XX. Section 10 of chapter 70B of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting, in line 3, after the word “per cent” the following text:- “There shall be an exemption on the maximum grant percentage for approved school projects that will replace or renovate a school was that was damaged as a result of a natural disaster.  Said projects may receive up to 100 per cent of the approved costs from the authority.”
