DRIVER’S LICENSE PLEDGE

Mr. Tarr moved that the proposed new text be amended by inserting, after section__, the following new section:-

“SECTION__.  Section 8 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking, in lines 206 and 207, the words “Applications for licenses shall be in such form as may be prescribed by the registrar” and inserting in place thereof the following language:- “Applications for licenses shall be in such form as may be prescribed by the registrar; provided, however, that all such applications shall include a statement that reads BY SIGNING THIS APPLICATION, I PLEDGE TO ABIDE BY THE LAWS GOVERNING THE OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE WITHIN THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS”.
