Amendment #205 to H3400

Prescription Drug Drop-off Box Grant Program

Mr. Cantwell of Marshfield moves to amend the bill by adding at the end thereof the following section:

“SECTION XX. Chapter 94C, section 47, subsection (d) is hereby amended by inserting after line 152:

“The District Attorney and participating police Departments may expend up to 20% of drug forfeiture monies and proceeds to fund a local Prescription Drug Drop-off Box Program.  This program may be supplemented with funding from the Executive Office of Public Safety to assist with the purchase, placement, operation, or maintenance of prescription drug drop-off boxes at police stations.

The department of public safety shall establish guidelines governing the prescription drug drop-off box grant program.”
