Municipal Recruit Training Program Fee Retained Revenue
Representatives Rogers of Norwood, Kafka of Stoughton, Galvin of Canton, Peisch of Wellesley, Gobi of Spencer, Linsky of Natick, Jones of North Reading, deMacedo of Plymouth, Vieira of Falmouth, McMurtry of Dedham, Gordon of Bedford, Boldyga of Southwick, Ashe of Longmeadow, Lewis of Winchester, Turner of Dennis, Durant of Spencer, Ferguson of Holden, Zlotnik of Gardner, Lyons of Andover, Markey of Dartmouth, Hill of Ipswich, Mirra of West Newbury, Cantwell of Marshfield, D'Emilia of Bridgewater, Hogan of Stow, Canavan of Brockton, Gregoire of Marlborough, Barrows of Mansfield, Fernandes of Milford, Puppolo of Springfield, Arciero of Westford, Garlick of Needham, Dykema of Holliston, Peterson of Grafton, Nyman of Hanover and Fattman of Sutton move to amend the bill in Section 2 by striking out item 8200-0222 and inserting in place thereof the following item: “8200-0222 The municipal police training committee may expend for the cost of training for law enforcement personnel an amount not to exceed $1,200,000 in fees charged for the training; provided, that the committee shall charge $3,000 per recruit for the training; provided further, that the charge shall be paid in full prior to the start of training; provided further, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, for the purposes of accommodating discrepancies between the receipt of retained revenues and related expenditures, the committee may incur expenses and the comptroller may certify for payment amounts not to exceed the lower of this authorization or the most recent revenue estimate thereof, as reported in the state accounting system; and provided further, that any unexpended funds in this item shall not revert and shall be made available for the purposes of this item until June 30,2015.”
