Amendment #411 to H3400
An Amendment Relative to the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative
Representatives Ferrante of Gloucester, Reinstein of Revere, Naughton of Clinton, O'Day of West Boylston, Sannicandro of Ashland, Cariddi of North Adams, McMurtry of Dedham, Vega of Holyoke, Cronin of Easton, Mahoney of Worcester, Mark of Peru, Roy of Franklin, Gregoire of Marlborough, Cantwell of Marshfield, Decker of Cambridge and Hogan of Stow moves to amend the bill in Section 2 by striking out item 7007-1200; and by inserting at the end thereof, the following sections:
"SECTION . Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the comptroller shall transfer to the Massachusetts Technology Park Corporation established pursuant to section 3 of chapter 40J of the General Laws and doing business as the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, the amount of $2,000,000 from the General Fund to be deposited in the Innovation Institute Fund established by section 6A of said chapter and administered by said corporation, which shall be expended to support and advance the purposes described in said section 6A to create and maintain a more favorable and responsive environment in the commonwealth for the development, growth, attraction and retention of technology-intensive and innovation-driven clusters of organizations and such other activities that promote the economic growth and vitality of the commonwealth. Commencing on September 30, 2014, the corporation shall file annual reports with the chairs of the house and senate committee on ways and means and the chairs of the joint committee on economic development and emerging technologies, detailing the activities undertaken during the prior fiscal year with the funds appropriated herein.
SECTION . Chapter 40J of the General Laws is hereby amended by deleting the first two sentences of paragraph (b) of section 6A.
