Amendment #517 to H3400

Jail Diversion

Representatives O'Day of West Boylston, Rogers of Cambridge, Sullivan of Fall River, Fox of Boston, Keefe of Worcester, Khan of Newton and Malia of Boston move to amend the bill in section 2, by striking in its entirety item 5046-0000 and inserting in place thereof the following:" 5046-0000

For adult mental health and support services; provided, that the department shall allocate funds in an amount not to exceed $5,000,000 from item 5095-0015 to this item, as necessary, pursuant to allocation plans submitted to the house and senate committees on ways and means 30 days prior to any such transfer, for residential and day services for clients formerly receiving care at department facilities; provided further, that the department shall expend for clubhouses no less than the amount of 2013 expenditures for clubhouses; provided further, that not less than $900,000 shall be expended for jail diversion programs in municipalities that provide equal matching funds from other public or private sources; and provided further, that the department shall report to the house and senate committees on ways and means on the distribution of funds per adult and child planning population and the types of services received in each region for fiscal year 2014, not later than February 3, 2014."  And again at the end by striking out the figures “$345,868,606” and inserting in place thereof the figrues “$346,768,606”
