An Amendment to Modernize the Re-certification of EBT Benefits

Mr. Fattman of Sutton moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

Section 2 of chapter 18 of the General Laws, as amended by section 1 of chapter 161 of the acts of 2012, is hereby amended: The comprehensive financial transitional assistance benefits program shall require the commissioner of the Department of Transitional Assistance shall determine a process for a standardized re-certification of EBT benefits that varifies the eligibility of a beneficiary based on current re-eligibility criteria by no later than the end of the calendar year. The department shall promulgate rules and regulations to fulfill the requirements of the semi-annual renewal.
