FAMILY PREMIUM ASSISTANCE

Ms. Donoghue moves to amend the bill by striking SECTION 20 and inserting in place thereof the following section:-

“SECTION 20. Said subsection (2) of said section 9A of said chapter 118E, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by adding the following subdivision:-

(j) premium assistance for employer-sponsored health insurance for adults who earn up to 400 percent of the federal poverty level, and who have a spouse or at least one dependent who also requires health insurance coverage, provided that neither the adults seeking coverage nor any spouse or dependent of the adults are insured at the time of application, that they are not eligible for any other program under this chapter, and that they cannot purchase a qualified health plan through the health connector because they have access to employer sponsored minimum essential coverage as defined in section 1401 of the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Pub. L. 111-148, as amended from time to time; provided further, that the administrator of this program shall file a report containing an analysis of funds expended and recommendations regarding the continuation of this program, with the governor and with the clerks of the senate and the house of representatives on or before June 30, 2014.”
