Cost Savings Comprehensive Study

Messrs. Tarr, Hedlund and Ross moves to amend the bill by inserting at the end thereof the following new section:-

SECTION _.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the director of the internal special audit unit, whose existence is legally required by section 9 of chapter 6C, shall conduct a comprehensive investigation of the financial impact of chapter 25 of the acts of 2009.  The review shall include a review of total savings to date, anticipated future savings, and an analysis of how the savings compare to projected savings at the time of the passage of the act.  The director shall publish his findings on the department’s website and submit an electronic copy of the report to the clerks of the house and the senate, the house and senate committees on ways and means, and the joint committee of transportation, no later than January 31, 2014.
