Elimination of Increase in Gas Tax

Messrs. Tarr, Hedlund and Ross moves to amend the bill by inserting at the end thereof the following new section:-

SECTION ___. Section 1 of chapter 64A of the General Laws as amended by Chapter 46 of the Acts of 2013 is hereby amended by striking out, the definition of “tax per gallon” and inserting in place thereof the following:-“Tax per gallon,” shall be 21 cents per gallon. For aviation fuel, ‘tax per gallon’ shall mean 7 ½ per cent of the average price, as determined by the commissioner, for each calendar quarter, computed to the nearest tenth of a cent per gallon; provided, however, that such tax shall not be less than 10 cents per gallon.
