Protection of Fowl Meadow Wetlands

Representatives Galvin of Canton and Timilty of Milton moves to amend the bill by adding at the end thereof the following new section:  "Section X.  Notwithstanding any general or special law, rule or regulation to the contrary, no development shall be permitted within 1000 feet of the so-called Fowl Meadow in the Town of Canton and the Town of Milton or any land abutting Fowl Meadow in the Town of Canton or the Town of Milton which development shall negatively impact this unique area encompassing upland open meadows, pristine wetlands and mature woods. Negative impact shall be determined to be a change of grade, re-routing or changing water flow, draining wetlands or altering the topography such that rare and/or endangered species shall not have the ability to inhabit two or more of the portions of the unique areas named herein."
