Amendment #43 to H3983

Exempting the food and beverage industry from the minimum wage increase:

Mr. Diehl of Whitman moves to amend the bill by inserting after SECTION 34 the following Section:-

“SECTION 35A. Section 1 of said chapter 151, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by adding the following sentence:-

“A wage of less than $8.00 an hour shall conclusively be presumed to be oppressive and unreasonable for employees of the restaurant and beverage industry except for those employees which receive a tipped wage”.
