Amendment #1047 to H4000

Public Safety and Open Space Improvements to a Park alongside the Merrimack River in the city of Lowell

Representatives Golden of Lowell and Nangle of Lowell move to amend the bill in section 2, in item 2810-0100, by adding the following:

“provided further, that $200,000 shall be expended for design, construction, repair, or improvements to a park alongside the Merrimack River located at the intersection of the VFW Highway and Aiken Street in the city of Lowell, said enhancements shall include brush and tree removal, a multi-use pathway, and the installation of benches, for the purposes of strengthening the park as a destination, promoting walkablity, reducing socially undesirable uses, and mitigating the isolating effect of the abutting VFW Highway to the Merrimack River.”
