Amendment #1104 to H4000

Massachusetts Community Action Investment and Support

Representatives Chan of Quincy, Murphy of Weymouth and Ayers of Quincy move to amend the bill by inserting after line item 7004-9322 the following new line item: -

7004- XXXX  For a program to provide community investment support for community action agencies operating in Massachusetts, as defined in Chapter 23B, Section 24, of the Massachusetts General Laws; provided, that the resources from this line-item are used for the same purposes by community action agencies that the resources from the federal fund known as the community services block grant, as defined in Section 24 of Chapter 23B of the General Laws and 42 U.S.C. 9901 et seq. are used; provided further, that the resources from this line-item be distributed to the community action agencies by the department of housing and community development; provided further, that 1 percent of the resources from this line-item be used to support its administration by the department of housing and community development; and provided further, that 1 percent of the resources from this line-item be provided to the Massachusetts Association for Community (MASSCAP) to provide technical and other assistance to community action agencies operating in Massachusetts…………….$5,000,000
