Powers and Duties of a Regional School District

Representatives Turner of Dennis, Gobi of Spencer, Benson of Lunenburg, D'Emilia of Bridgewater, Durant of Spencer, Ferguson of Holden, Gregoire of Marlborough, Mannal of Barnstable, Mark of Peru, Peake of Provincetown, Pignatelli of Lenox, Puppolo of Springfield, Schmid of Westport, Straus of Mattapoisett, Vieira of Falmouth and Zlotnik of Gardner move to amend the bill by adding the following section:

"Section XXXX. Section 16 of chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following subsection:-

(s) A regional school district may serve as the fiscal agent when the regional district and one or more towns or superintendency union have hired the same superintendent and central office staff; provided that the regional district shall enter into a written agreement with the school committee or committees concerning the regional district billing the school committee or committees for services and payment of personnel.".
