Small Business Technical Assistance Program

Representatives Peake of Provincetown, DiNatale of Fitchburg, Turner of Dennis, Vega of Holyoke, McMurtry of Dedham, Scibak of South Hadley, Swan of Springfield, Provost of Somerville, Ferguson of Holden, Madden of Nantucket, Keenan of Salem, Cariddi of North Adams, Pignatelli of Lenox, Ashe of Longmeadow, Benson of Lunenburg, Donahue of Worcester, Rosa of Leominster, Wagner of Chicopee, Vieira of Falmouth, Zlotnik of Gardner, Ferrante of Gloucester, Timilty of Milton, Gobi of Spencer, Smola of Warren, Atkins of Concord, Sánchez of Boston, Garballey of Arlington and Moran of Boston moves to amend the bill in section 2, in  item 7002-0010, by adding the following: "provided further, notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development shall transfer $2,000,000 to the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation for the Small Business Technical Assistance Grant Program; provided, however, that not less than $2,000,000 shall be disbursed as grants to community development corporations certified under MGL Chapter 40H, nonprofit community development financial institutions certified by the U.S. Treasury, or nonprofit community based organizations for the purpose of providing technical assistance or training programs to businesses with 20 employees or fewer; provided further that priority shall be given to those organizations that focus on reaching under-served markets, the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation shall annually, on or before December 31, file a report with the house and senate committees on ways and means, and the joint committee on small business and community development"; and in said item by striking out the figures "$1,287,712" and inserting in place thereof the figures "$3,287,712".
