Amendment #631 to H4000

An Amendment relative to the civil commitment of women for alcoholism and substance abuse to MCI-Framingham

Representatives Khan of Newton, Calter of Kingston, Gregoire of Marlborough, Gordon of Bedford, Collins of Boston, Kocot of Northampton, Andrews of Orange, Balser of Newton, Farley-Bouvier of Pittsfield, Mannal of Barnstable, Sannicandro of Ashland, Garballey of Arlington, Cronin of Easton, Devers of Lawrence and Livingstone of Boston move to amend the bill in section 2, in  item  4512-0200, in line 17, by inserting after “beds"  the following:

SECTION 1. The Department of Public Health shall ensure that no female is committed under Section 35 of Chapter 123 or Section 7 of Chapter 111B of the General Laws to the Massachusetts correctional institution, Framingham for rehabilitative purposes.
