Amendment #752 to H4000

Relative to exempting non-profit and municipality operated camps from the new minimum wage

Mrs. Poirier of North Attleborough moves to amend the bill by inserting at the end thereof the following new section:--

“SECTION XX.  Section 1 of chapter 151 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding at the end of the first paragraph the following:—

This section shall not apply to non-profit and municipality run camps. A wage less than $8.00 per hour, in any occupation, shall conclusively be presumed to be oppressive and unreasonable, unless the commissioner has expressly approved or shall expressly approve the establishment and payment of a lesser wage under the provisions of sections seven and nine.”
