Six Month Residency Requirement Amendment
Representatives Speliotis of Danvers, Jones of North Reading, Cole of Peabody, Cantwell of Marshfield, Dwyer of Woburn, Gifford of Wareham, Orrall of Lakeville, Peterson of Grafton, Howitt of Seekonk, Kuros of Uxbridge, Mirra of West Newbury, Walsh of Framingham, Garry of Dracut, Chan of Quincy, Mark of Peru, Schmid of Westport, Puppolo of Springfield, Fiola of Fall River, Ashe of Longmeadow, Finn of West Springfield and Gregoire of Marlborough move to amend the bill in section 2, in line item 7004-0103, in line 4, by inserting after "beds" the following:
"Provided further that any participant in the Department of Housing and Community Development’s emergency assistance program shall be eligible for said program if such participant constituents a resident of the Commonwealth, as defined in Section 1 of Chapter 176J of the 2012 Official Edition Massachusetts General Laws, for not less than six months prior to the Department of Housing and Community Development placing said participant in a hotel or motel for emergency housing purposes.”
