Smoking cessation programs

Representatives O'Connell of Taunton, Diehl of Whitman and Lombardo of Billerica move to amend the bill by adding the following section:

“SECTION XXXX: Chapter 41 of the General Laws is amended in Section 101A.by adding the following at the end: Prior to the termination of a firefighter or police officer for violating this section said employee shall be offered an opportunity to enter a smoking cessation program. Subsequent violation may be cause for dismissal.”.
