Amendment #819 to H4000

Relative to repayment of public assistance

Representatives O'Connell of Taunton, Cole of Peabody, Diehl of Whitman, Fattman of Sutton, Kuros of Uxbridge and Lombardo of Billerica move to amend the bill by adding the following section:-

“SECTION XXXX: Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the department of transitional assistance shall, with the assistance of the department of revenue as allowed by law, garnish the wages and/or state tax returns of any recipient or former recipient who has fraudulently collected benefits until all monies owed to the department have been collected.”
