Mental Health Advisory Committee
Representatives Cronin of Easton, Brady of Brockton, Decker of Cambridge, Garlick of Needham, Cantwell of Marshfield, O'Connell of Taunton and Heroux of Attleboro move to amend the bill in section 101 by striking out the following “There shall be a special task force convened to identify existing structural or policy-based impediments to delivering comprehensive and cost-effective behavioral and mental health treatment within the commonwealth’s health care system. The task force shall consist of 9 members: 1 of whom shall be the executive director of the center for health information and analysis, who shall serve as chair; 1 of whom shall be the commissioner of mental health; 1 of whom shall be a representative of the Massachusetts Hospital Association; 1 of whom shall be a representative of the Massachusetts Association of Health Plans; 1 of whom shall be a representative of the Massachusetts Psychiatric Society; 1 of whom shall be a representative of the Massachusetts Psychological Association; 1 of whom shall be a representative of the Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses; 1 of whom shall be a representative of the Massachusetts Association of Behavioral Health Systems; and 1 of whom shall be a representative of the Association for Behavioral Healthcare” and inserting in place thereof the following, “The scope of the advisory committee created for the purpose of arranging for and evaluating an independent analysis of the public and private behavioral health care services available to the residents of the commonwealth created by Section 186 of Chapter 139 of the Acts of 2012 shall be expanded to include the task of identifying existing structural or policy-based impediments to delivering comprehensive and cost-effective behavioral and mental health treatment within the commonwealth’s health care system”.
