Amendment #838 to H4000

Blanket Insurance

Mr. Costello of Newburyport moves to amend the bill by adding the following sections:-

"SECTION XX.  Section 110 of chapter 175 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “to”, in line 3, the following words:-

groups, including by not limited to the following:

SECTION XX. Said chapter 175 is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 6 to 8, subsections (c) and (d) in section 110, as so appearing, and inserting in place thereof the following 2 subsections:-

(c) any police, fire or governmental department or volunteer fire department or first aid or civil defense or other such department; or

(d) any college, school or other institution of learning, or a school district or districts or school jurisdictional unit, or the head or principal or governing board thereof; or

SECTION XX.  Said chapter 175 is hereby amended by inserting after the word “guarantor”, in line 44, the following words:-

; or (k) an incorporated or unincorporated religious, charitable, recreational, educational or civic organization, or branch thereof; or

(l) a restaurant, hotel, motel, resort, innkeeper, or other group with a high degree of potential customer liability; or

(m) a travel agency, or other organization that arranges travel related services; or

(n) a sports team, camp or sponsor thereof; or

(o) a common carrier or operator, owner or lessee of a means of transportation; or

(p) an incorporated or unincorporated association or persons having a common interest or calling forms for purposes other than obtaining insurance; or

(q) Under a policy or contract issued to a bank, association, financial or other institution, vendor, or to a parent holding company, or to the trustee, trustees or agent designated by one or more banks, associations, financial or other institutions, or vendors, which shall be deemed the policyholder, covering accountholders, debtors, guarantors or purchasers.".
