Mr. Mariano of Quincy moves to amend the bill in section 101, in line 1116, by inserting after the word “stakeholders” the words “The task force shall also develop recommendations to reduce the number of patients who are ‘stuck’ in department of mental health continuing care facilities, acute psychiatric units, and emergency departments, including but not limited to increasing the capacity of specialized crisis stabilization units within the community, and requiring the department of mental health to implement policies and procedures that prioritize the readmission of patients who are discharged from continuing care facilities and subsequently require rehospitalization within 30 days of their discharge”.
