Amendment #1 to H4111

South Boston Community Development Foundation

Mr. Collins of Boston moves to amend the bill by adding the following section:

SECTION XX:  Subsection (g) of section 4 of chapter 152 of the acts of 1997 is hereby amended by striking out the first and second paragraphs and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:-

(i) The South Boston Community Development Foundation, hereinafter the foundation, shall consist of a committee of 11 members: 8 members appointed by the governor, 1 of whom shall be a representative of a non-profit organization from the locally impacted neighborhood, 1 of whom shall be appointed from a list of persons nominated for appointment by the Boston City Councilor elected to represent District 2, 3 of whom shall be appointed from a list of persons nominated for appointment by the senator from the first Suffolk district, 3 of whom shall be appointed from a list of persons nominated for appointment by the state representative from the fourth Suffolk district; and 3 members appointed by the mayor of the city who shall be small business owners from the locally impacted neighborhood. Members of the foundation shall be residents of South Boston, shall serve a term of two years from the date of appointment and may be reappointed pursuant to this paragraph.
