Amendment #76 to H4165

Requiring UI recipients to register and take an orientation at career centers as a requirement to receive unemployment benefits

Mr. Kulik of Worthington moves to amend the bill by adding the following new section and line item:

SECTION X. Section 30 of Chapter 151A of the General Laws is hereby amended after subsection c by inserting the following subsection:

(d) All persons receiving unemployment insurance shall be required to register and  receive orientation at a One-Stop Career Center within 6 weeks of receiving said insurance. The Director shall promulgate regulations in accordance with this section.

by inserting after item 7003-0605 following new line item:

"7003-XXXX- to one stop career centers for the purpose of orientation of unemployment recipients and assistance to long term unemployed…                              $3,000,000"
