Evaluating Sterile Compounds

Messrs. Tarr and Montigny move to amend the amendment in line 398 by striking the following:-

“, the efficacy of the products and the potency of the products”

and further by adding the following section:-

SECTION .

The board of registration in pharmacy shall, in consultation with the department of public health and the advisory committee, established by section 42C of chapter 112 of the General Laws, shall study the criteria used to test sterile compounds at pharmacies, hospitals, and facilities.

The board, in in consultation with the department of public health and the advisory committee, shall report to the general court the results of its recommendations, if any, together with drafts of legislation necessary to carry its recommendations, by filing said report and recommendations with the clerks of the house of representatives and the joint committee on public health no later than August 15, 2014.
