Housing Authority Pilot Program

Ms. Chandler and Mr. Donnelly move to amend the bill by inserting after SECTION___, the following new section:- 

SECTION___: The Department of Housing and Community Develop shall develop and share with local housing authorities a program to provide supportive public housing opportunities for recovering substance abusers who do not qualify for traditional public housing due to past criminal actions associated with drug and alcohol abuse.  In developing the program the Department shall consider the elements that comprise  Worcester Housing Authority’s “New Beginnings” program.
