Amendment #5 to S2142
Recovery High School transportation
Representatives Sannicandro of Ashland, Dwyer of Woburn, Gordon of Bedford, Keenan of Salem and Malia of Boston moves to amend the bill by adding the following 3 sections:-
SECTION XX. To provide for improvements to substance abuse recovery services in the commonwealth in fiscal year 2014, the sums set forth in section XY are hereby appropriated from the General Fund for the several purposes and subject to the conditions specified in this act and subject to laws regulating the disbursement of public funds; provided, however, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, appropriations made herein shall not revert and shall be available for expenditure until June 30, 2015.
SECTION XY. 7035-XXXX For reimbursements to cities, towns, and regional school districts for the cost of transportation of resident pupils as required by subsection (f) of section 91 of chapter 71 of the General Laws; provided, that the commonwealth’s obligation shall not exceed the amount appropriated in this item ........ $1,200,000
SECTION XZ. Section 91 of Chapter 71 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following new subsection:-
(f) A municipality wherein a student resides who is admitted to a Recovery High School , shall, when necessary, provide for the transportation of such student, and shall, subject to appropriation, be entitled to state reimbursement to the full extent of the amount expended.
