Cultural Districts

Mr. Downing, Ms. Donoghue, Messrs. Wolf and Montigny and Ms. Jehlen move to amend the amendment by inserting at the end thereof the following new item:-

xxxx-xxxx. For a competitive grant program to be run by the Massachusetts cultural council to fund the Adams Arts Program to provide cultural districts established under section 58A of chapter 10 of the General Laws with funds to advance the mission of said cultural districts, as set forth in said section 58A of said chapter 10, to attract artists and cultural enterprises to a community, encourage business and job development, establish tourist destinations, preserve and reuse historic buildings, enhance property values and foster local cultural development. The program shall be open to all state-designated cultural districts. ……………….….$500,000”.
