Amendment #1 to H3191
An Act authorizing the town of Williamsburg to continue the employment of firefighter Paul Sanderson
The committee on Bills in the Third Reading recommends that the bill be amended moves to amend House, No. 3191 by striking out section 1 and inserting in place thereof the following section:-
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Paul Sanderson, a firefighter with the fire department of the town of Williamsburg, may continue to serve in that position until November 17, 2019, until the date of his retirement or until the date he is relieved of his duties, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that Paul Sanderson is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of the position. If requested, Paul Sanderson shall, at his own expense, be examined by an impartial physician designated by the town to determine his capacity. No further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Paul Sanderson pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service subsequent to November 17, 2014 and upon retirement, Paul Sanderson shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he retired on November 17, 2014.
