Amendment #100 to H3400

Strengthening College and Career Readiness

Mr. Cusack of Braintree moves that the bill be amended in section 2, after item 7061-9404, by inserting the following:-

 

 

“7061-9406  For a statewide college and career readiness program implemented by JFYNetworks, A Nonprofit Corporation, to reduce the number of remedial developmental courses students are required to take at community colleges; provided, that JFYNetworks shall (i) maintain the JFYNet college and career readiness program to administer the Accuplacer Diagnostic and College Placement tests in high schools; (ii) provide individualized online instructional curricula to strengthen the skills measured by the tests; and (iii) administer final Accuplacer Placement tests to measure student progress and program outcomes; provided further, that passing scores shall be reported to community colleges ensuring student placement in credit-earning courses; provided further, that JFYNetworks shall coordinate with the 15 community colleges to identify not more than 5 high schools per community college that shall send students to the program………………………$500,000.”
